Fighting Juvenile Charges • Protecting Your Child's Future
Juvenile offenses can have repercussions that affect the life of a child for years into adulthood. They can carry stigma, make you ineligible for extra-curricular activities in high school or even make you ineligible for federal college loans.
Juvenile defense lawyer Bryson D. Perkins worked for nearly two years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Canyon County. For a full year, he handled juvenile cases exclusively. He knows how to help negotiate a fair deal with the courts and minimize the impact the charges will have on your child's future.

A Note About Juvenile "Crimes" — Technically, there is no such thing as a juvenile crime. Instead, they are called "juvenile offenses." Some illegal acts, like assault or drug possession, are considered "offenses" when committed by juveniles and "crimes" when committed by adults. Other offenses, like curfew violations, are only illegal when committed by a juvenile. The court system treats juvenile offenses and adult crimes very differently.
Informal Adjustments: Getting Your Charges Dismissed
If a juvenile has never been charged with an offense before, he or she may be eligible for an "informal adjustment." An informal adjustment is where the charges are completely dismissed after the juvenile pleads guilty and successfully completes a probationary period.
